Unemployment insurance (ALV)

Unemployment insurance (ALV) provides reasonable compensation for loss of income. ALV provides benefits in the event of unemployment, weather-induced losses of working hours, short-time work and the inability of an employer to pay its employees. It also pays for readjustment measures.

All employees are covered by ALV. They receive their temporary loss of earnings due to a job loss in daily instalments at a rate of 70% of the insured income.
